Accessibility Guide

The 'Accessibility Guide' has been produced to raise awareness of the everyday problems faced by disabled, blind and partially sighted people and to promote good practice in creating accessible online forms.

Mandoforms commissioned accessibility experts from the RNIB Technology in Learning and Employment (TiLE) team to produce the guide.

Creating forms that can be completed by all users is not only good practice, but also a legal requirement under the 1995 Disability Discrimination Act, section 508 of the US Rehabilitation Act, the 2001 Special Educational Needs and Disability Act and in line with the eEurope Initiative.

The accessibility guide outlines good practice advice for organisations to design inclusively and create more accessible forms that meet legal obligations and provide a better experience for all users, not just people with disabilities.

Cost Saving Guide

The 'Cost Saving Guide' provides a striking comparison between the costs of paper-based forms and the Mandoforms online alternative.

Mandoforms commissioned Scott-Grant Productivity Services, one of Europe's leading productivity specialists, to independently produce the data for the 'Cost Saving Guide'.

The analysis compares the costs of producing, deploying and processing one million typical corporate forms using the four most common forms solutions. Real data is used, derived from a standard O&M analysis conforming to BS 3138: 1992 for a major UK bank in 1997.

Compared with paper, microfiche and scanning approaches, Mandoforms was found to cut costs by 90%. Furthermore, Mandoforms take around 5 days to deploy compared with 35 days for the paper-based methods.

Usability Guide

The 'Usability Guide: Improve the effectiveness of your online forms' provides a summary of current best practice for online form design.

The guide was written by David Hawdale, a highly experienced Usability Consultant in the fields of user-centred design for web and interactive TV products.

The purpose of forms is simple; to capture data. A successful online form is one that gets completed. The 'Usability Guide' will help you design successful forms by making them easier to use, easier to understand and generally more pleasant for your users.

Although nobody wins design awards for forms, if 100% completion is attained, you will have achieved a significant success for yourself, your team and your company.
